Moooo-ving, keep on moooo-ving...

February 2007

Aaaand, she's off again. On Sunday night, February 4th, I moved back down to London. There's a project going on in my company that I want to be involved with and it's London based, so I waved a teary farewell to Glasgow - the best place to live, ever - and now find myself back in the big smoke! A friendly colleage (actually, she's kind of my boss...) has let me use her spare room until I find a flat, a task I was absolutely dreading. I was down in London a few weeks ago to look for places and only saw dumps and met freakazoids, so I was not hopeful!

But, the fates were smiling on me because last night, my first night of looking, I found a flat! Hurrah! Hooray! Yippee!

From the beginning of March then, I'll be living in Ealing. It's a really nice area that I didn't know at all, but walking around last night, I just immediately felt comfortable there. There's good links into central London, only 4 stops on the tube to work, Ealing has lots of little bars, pubs, restaurants and a fantabulous selection of shops. Unlike some other areas of London, which have a High Street with just your basics, I'll have everything I need pretty much on my doorstep! And they're building the biggest shopping centre inside the M25 just outside my work, so I may have to make sure I cut up the credit cards...

I've found a flat on the top floor of a big Victorian house, sharing with two other girls. The tradition to live with either people that have the same name as me or are German continues, so one of my flatmates is Tina, from Germany! Arf! That could get confusing. Anyway, I'm dead chuffed that I found somewhere so quickly.

Now I can just kick back and relax for the next month and concentrate on work. I have my first week of early shifts next week (that's 6am starts. Ouch!) and I go on air with my first live news bulletin at 6.27am on Valentines Day! That's only a week away...God help me!

So, anyone passing through London, please drop in, I'll have plenty of room to put people up!
